FRENCH POLISHING

We specialise in the traditional hand technique of French Polishing.

At Fringe and Tassel we believe in using a sympathetic approach to the restoration of antique furniture and will retain the patina and character of each cherished piece. We use only traditional waxes, shellacs and natural oils.

• We are able to restore each piece of furniture using repairs and materials in keeping with the original period
• We will enhance a treasured antique jewellery box or a tea caddy and can replace a missing escutcheon or banding
• We can re-glue loose veneers and re-place missing veneers
• Our repairs can be carried out either on site or in our workshop
